CNAO synchrotron and transfer lines magnets

CNAO project (National Center for hOncologic hAdrontherapy) is aimed to the construction of a medical synchrotron for cancer treatment at Polyclinic San Matteo in Pavia.

Hadrontherapy is based on the use of heavy particles “hadrons” (protons or carbon ions) to treat tumoral cells, with lighter impact on healthy tissues compared to other treatments such as X-ray radiotherapy.

For this project, ASG manufactured the synchrotron and high energy beam transfer (HEBT) and medium energy beam transfer (MEBT) lines magnets.
