HI-LUMI LHC: the superconducting D2 dipole prototype

The High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is exploring new beam configurations and the use of new advanced technologies in the domain of superconductivity. In the HL-LHC an important role is played by the dipoles recombining and separating the particle of the two proton beams around the interaction regions.
