Multi Purpose Detector magnet for NICA accelerator
09/04/2020
NICA (Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAсility) is a new complex accelerator designed at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia) to study the properties of dense baryonic matter. When the NICA will be ready, JINR scientists will be able to create in the Laboratory a special state of matter in which the Universe stayed shortly after the Big Bang – the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). ASG in 2016 has been awarded a contract for the construction of the magnet for the MPD, one of the largest superconductive magnets ever produced in its workshops. The manufacturing was completed in summer 2019 and the Factory Acceptance Test was successfully awarded. To know more, please download the full article.
