Sergio Frattini new Managing Director

Genoa - May 16, 2017 - ASG Superconductors announces that Sergio Frattini is the new CEO of ASG Superconductors. The Malacalza family company based in Genoa with 4 plants in Liguria and about 250 employees is active in the field of superconducting magnets for research, nuclear fusion, medical and energy. Frattini, 48 years old, with experience in the industrial sector, in Italy and abroad, has also been appointed Managing Director of the subsidiaries Columbus Superconductors, that produces an innovative MgB2 superconductive wire, and Paramed, that produces innovative magnetic resonance systems using magnets produced by ASG. Davide Malacalza, President of ASG Superconductors, said: "The arrival of Sergio Frattini who has great experience in Italy and abroad in optimizing production processes represents a new managerial and strategic step in the path that led us to invest in ASG to bring the company to develop and produce magnets and systems not only for research but also for applications and new materials for industrial uses. Frattini's arrival, to whom I would like to make the best wishes for good work, is followed by the 5 years of management by another highly experienced manager, Enzo Giori, who I thank for the work done and the achievements of these years. He’ll remain in the company as Vice President with special focus on business development issues.
