ITER TF COIL n.7 Ready for shipment.

Celebrating another magnet manufacturing technology milestone for the most important fusion project in the world: ITER.

The seventh Toroidal Field Coil Winding Pack is ready for shipment. A new sophisticated magnetic system manufactured in ASG Superconductors production lines, La Spezia!

A total of 18 powerful superconducting magnets will confine the ITER plasma reaching 150 million °C, powered with 68 000 A. They will generate a strong magnetic field of 11.8 Tesla—about 250 000 times the magnetic field of the Earth.
